Developed site-specifically for mumoks’ basement white cube The
Burgeoning takes Edward Muybridge’s locomotion studies as a conceptual
point of departure in exploring synaesthetic dimensions of the figurative in
motion.
Together with electronic music producer rRoxymore, set designer Stephanie Rauch and light designer Catalina Fernandez, Kaler explores the relationship between real-time composition, light as visual effects tool and the maelstrom of a gradually building industrial – cinematic – ambient techno soundtrack.
The
Burgeoning
fluctuates between query and gesture, introspection and exertion, between
what is and what is yet to come. It is an attempt to shape and let movement
be, as embodied prose, as poetry.
