MUK - 4th-year students from the course in Contemporary and Classical Dance
14. and 16.03.2022 (19:30) - >> MuTH

In their multi-part production ARTICULATION, graduating students from the MUK’s course in Contemporary and Classical Dance perform contemporary choreographies which demonstrate the breadth of their artistic range and dance skills. The four choreographies were conceived by MUK teachers Esther Balfe and Manfred Aichinger in conjunction with guests Eva Maria Schaller and Ian Kaler, both of whom are working with the MUK dance course for the first time. The pieces were devised and developed in collaboration with the dancers.

For UPCYCLING Ian Kaler re-imagines and re-purposes elements of movement, choreographic scores, costumes, set design and light from prior pieces for students in their final year at MUK as part of an evening with four graduation pieces by different choreografers. Individually and as a group the dancers navigate in UPCYCLING a live process of shifting constellations and movement in space that highlight the transitory nature of relationalities between them.

Stephanie Rauch’s set design for the piece LIVFE facilitates new layers of spacial and physical interaction and supports a range of narrative associations to the happenings on stage. The performance is embedded in a mesmerizing electronic soundtrack by music producer rRoxymore.
